The purpose and goal of Chatham Animal Rescue and Educate (CARE) is “to promote the health and safety of all cats and dogs in Chatham County. CARE strives to teach by example, to be a resource to the community and local government, and to provide foster care for animals until they can be adopted into permanent homes.” Their focus on education is extremely helpful to the community because they don’t just educate those who are looking to adopt. They also work to educate current pet owners because responsible pet ownership keeps animals out of shelters and rescues. They provide all kinds of resources for both current and potential pet parents to learn about the needs of pets. They work closely with the Chatham County Animal Shelter to help pull animals from the shelter and place them in foster homes where they can be adopted. Their work truly saves lives and we are so excited to have them with us at Spring Fling!

Did you know that black dogs have the lowest rate of adoption over any other in the country? This is due to a stigma known as “The Black Dog Syndrome”, and the amazing people of The Black Dog Club are doing everything they can to fight it. Of course, they are also committed to helping any dog in need, no matter what color their fur is. Their mission is to “provide rescue and rehabilitation services to dogs pulled from local North Carolina shelters.” This also means that they focus a lot of their adoption efforts on animals who are unlikely to be adopted right out of a shelter, like pets that are of a bonded pair, have been abused, or are heart worm positive. Through meet and greets and a specialized adoption process, they match dogs with owners that will love them and finally give them a place to call home!

Heart Pet Rescue is an 100% volunteer based organization whose main mission is to help all animals find permanent homes where they will receive all the love they deserve. This rescue strives to reduce the number of homeless pets in the community and they believe that education programs, spaying and neutering, and proper pet matching is the best way to do so. Their network of volunteers and foster homes have saved so many pets, and they continually work to properly match every animal with a home that will meet their needs and love them unconditionally. They have an incredibly informative website that answers so many questions potential adopters might have about the process of finding a rescue pet. We are so excited to have them at Spring Fling and we know you will be too!
