Vets to Vets is an organization thats helps Veterans get united with a dog and their main goal is improving and saving lives.

By pairing veterans with dogs, they seek to significantly improve a veteran's life by providing companionship and/or help with a mental or physical disability. Also they help save the life of a dog facing euthanasia by adopting the animal from a local animal shelter.

The benefits of companion, therapeutic, and service dogs for veterans suffering from depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and other disabling conditions is well known.

"This type of human/animal bond creates a life-long, loving relationship between two souls, provides therapeutic interventions that can improve the veterans mental and physical health, and promotes a healthier more productive community by increasing independence for men and women veterans with disabling medical and physical conditions."

Make sure to come and see them as they will be there with some Vet's and their pups!

PIPs is a group that helps to take in dogs that not everyone would be willing to take right away. Their vision was to take in any and all dogs that had medical or special needs.

Each dog goes to a foster home and is given as much love as they need before they go to their furever home.

"Our name says it all, PIPs’ primary focus are medical and special needs dogs that are often overlooked. We call these dogs “PIP-abled” which means perfectly imperfect. A dog that may need a wheelchair, is missing limbs, deaf, blind or in need of some extra love and care – this is our niche."

Odin's Orphans Rescue is an all volunteer group of rescuers dedicated to helping as many homeless dogs in Nash County as they can. Nearly all of their dogs come from the county shelter, and are there for any number of reasons from abandonment and neglect, to owners no longer able to care for them. This group takes great care in screening potential homes to ensure that each dog is matched with the best family for their needs and vice versa. Education is provided on the responsibilities and costs of pet ownership to all prospective adopters.

"Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and are placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement into their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed, or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in greatest need take priority."

We are excited to have Odin's Orphans joining us for Spring Fling again this year! Check them out on Facebook and Instagram!
