Barkitecture Events - Where Architecture Saves Lives!

Barkitecture Events is returning for their third year at Spring Fling! Barkitecture is a nonprofit competition that engages designers and communities in creating custom pet architecture that fuels rescue missions and inspires advocacy to advance pet welfare through design.


Their largest event, Triangle Barkitecture, returns this fall with all new pet designs that will be auctioned off to support their rescue partners! Since 2019, they have raised over $158,000 to support rescues, raise awareness, and help more pets find forever homes. Fresh off their biggest Barkitecture fundraiser yet, with over $48,000 donated to local pet rescues, they are already planning for an even bigger 2026 season!

Barkitecture is the ultimate custom pet architecture competition, where designers, architects, and creative minds craft one-of-a-kind pet homes. Each unique creation is auctioned to raise funds for local animal rescues, supporting medical care, food, and forever homes for pets in need.

In 2019, the first Triangle Barkitecture event brought together design teams from across North Carolina for a one-day showcase celebrating architecture, pets, and purpose. Each structure was auctioned with all proceeds supporting local rescues, while the event itself created a platform to highlight adoptable pets and connect them with potential families. As Barkitecture grew, so did its impact, evolving from a single event into the foundation for Barkitecture Events, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding this model into more communities.


In 2026, Barkitecture will return with more rescue partners, local vendors and sponsors, and new pet architecture to be auctioned off to the public. Unleashed has been a part of Barkitecture for several years and we plan to be there again this year too!
