Canine Community Outreach of North Carolina has joined us for Spring Fling multiple times in the past, and we are so excited to have them again this year! This team works hard to close the gap between affordable spay/neuter and their community through education.

Co-founders Colleen and Kate share a lifelong passion for pets, especially rescue dogs. They met in 2019, and the rest is history! While they love rescuing, their real goal is to reduce pet overpopulation and lessen the number of pets in need of rescue in the first place.

Canine Community Outreach of NC is dedicated to improving the lives of both dogs and their humans by promoting and enabling spay/neuter services. Through education and accessible resources, they empower pet owners to make responsible choices, ultimately reducing the number of homeless dogs in North Carolina.

In addition to raising awareness of the need to spay and neuter and providing funds for special cases and assistance with spay/neuter costs, their Sasha-Bean Memorial Fund helps one organization each year in their work to stop pet overpopulation.

Why spay or neuter your pet?

  • It reduces euthanasia! Fewer unwanted litters mean less overcrowding at animal shelters and less unnecessary euthanasia.

  • It can help behavior issues! Some negative behaviors related to the mating instinct, like roaming or aggression, can be reduced after spay or neuter

  • It's cost-effective! It can be less expensive to have your dog spayed or neutered vs. birthing and raising a litter of puppies.

Rocky's Bridge is joining us for their second Spring Fling! They are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a strong focus on raising funds for spay and neuter services, TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs, and essential medical care. Rocky’s Bridge works tirelessly to reduce pet overpopulation and ensure that animals in need receive the treatment they deserve.

"Rocky Bridge's mission is to ensure that no pet is surrendered or unadoptable due to the financial hardship of meeting veterinary care needs. We provide financial assistance to dogs/cats in our local rural shelters to ensure they have the necessary veterinary care to facilitate adoption or placement with a local rescue. We also provide financial assistance for veterinary care to local Granville and surrounding county community members, helping families keep their pet healthy, safe and at home."

Rocky’s Bridge Inc. was founded by a group of compassionate animal welfare advocates who recognized a pressing need for change and stepped up to help. The organization is dedicated to “bridging the gap” that prevents pets in the community from receiving affordable spay/neuters and medical care.

We want to keep pets in their homes and do our best to make sure seniors never have to choose between caring for themselves or their pets.

They are also passionate advocates for spay and neuter accessibility, believing it should be available to all pet owners, regardless of financial circumstances.

To support their mission, Rocky’s Bridge Inc. participates in local vendor events every weekend, offering a variety of fun pet items for sale. 100% of the proceeds go directly toward covering the medical expenses of pets in need. The organization relies on these sales, along with generous donations from their dedicated supporters, to continue providing life-saving care. With every purchase or contribution, Rocky’s Bridge takes another step toward ensuring that no pet is left behind due to financial barriers.

Who do your donations help?

Rocky's Winston

Dogs like Winston!! In 2024 he was adopted from Granville County Animal Shelter. Rocky’s Bridge planned to sponsor his heartworm treatment, and he was high positive. During his exam, it seemed to be one thing after another. More tests were run, and cancer was found. Considering his age, and some other issues…Rocky’s Bridge, Inc. ran a fundraiser for Tank (now lovingly know as Winston). Rocky’s Bridge continued to use those funds to help Winston and his owners.
