Friends of Wake County Animal Center will be joining us for Spring Fling!

It all started from the launch of a Facebook page to bring awareness to the animals at the Wake County Animal Center..

Friends of Wake County Animal Center (FWCAC) is now a 501(c)(3) non profit organization.   dedicated to improving the quality of life for animals in our community and their human families.  Through our fundraising efforts, they provide access to vital medical care, boarding and placement for shelter animals in need, thereby improving their health and reducing euthanasia rates at the center.  They work to promote adoption, safety, and responsible pet ownership via education and public outreach.  And, provide support to local rescues, animals shelters, and adopters to help diminish the number of homeless animals.

The Wake County Animal Center is an open-admission animal shelter operated by Wake County. We receive all stray, abandoned & surrendered pets in Wake County. We work in partnership with fosters, volunteers and local rescues, to treat and rehome thousands of homeless animals every year.

They Are Hope Animal Rescue

Hope Animal Rescue is a nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of stray and abandoned pets in North Carolina. We promote compassionate and humane treatment of all animals, regardless of breed or species. Hope Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit who is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service. All donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.

It is our belief that the killing of adoptable shelter pets is wrong, and we fight every day to save as many as we can. Shelters have differing views of what 'adoptable' is, and we believe the sick and scared deserve a chance at life as well. We hope to see an end to all killing of healthy and treatable animals.

We don't like to call it 'euthanasia,' as euthanasia is to end the suffering of an animal, and what happens in shelters is not often done to end suffering. It is often due to space or time, and has little to do with the temperament or health of the animals.

Volunteers are the heart of Hope Animal Rescue, and we have the BEST people helping us! They do it for nothing other than to help save lives, no one gets paid at Hope!
