Lab Rescue LRCP is another returning Spring Fling rescue group and we are excited to have them back this year!

Lab Rescue LRCP is an all volunteer, foster based organization that works with Labrador Retrievers in the mid-Atlantic region. Their service area spans from Pennsylvania and Delaware through West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina. Labs that come into their care are all given veterinary care, including spay and neuter. They average 1,000 labs through their program each year!

They are considered a "virtual" organization because they span such a large area and only utilize foster homes. Their website has all kinds of information about Labrador Retrievers and, of course, the dogs they have available for adoption. Most of their dogs are fostered in Maryland and Virginia but they have supporters and adopters across their service area. In addition to the usual needs like donations and foster homes, groups like Lab Rescue LRCP rely heavily on volunteers to transport dogs to where they need to be. An open foster home may be a couple states away and the dog just needs someone to get them there. If fostering isn't for you, this may be a great way to help out!

You can see all their available dogs on their website and learn how you can help out. Make sure to stop by their booth at Spring Fling and follow their social media channels, Facebook and Instagram to keep up with them!

GSRA is another long-time Spring Fling attendee and we are pleased to have them again this year! They love coming to the event and meeting new people that may want to adopt a shepherd. The more people that adopt from GSRA, the more dogs that they can save.

German Shepherd Rescue and Adoptions has been saving shepherds in the Carolinas and Virginia since 1992. They are based in Raleigh and offer care and adoption services to stray, surrendered and neglected German shepherds through their network of foster homes in their service area. They also work to spread knowledge about sharing life with a German Shepherd so that people are more aware when they make the decision to welcome one into their family.

One of their adoptable dogs is Walter! This cutie is about 7 months old. Since he's a young guy, he's learning all kinds of new things in his foster home. He has doggy siblings in his foster home and originally arrived in the shelter with his sister so he's got a lot of experience with dogs and would love to have a confident doggy sibling in his home. For all the information on Walter and to apply to adopt him, check out his profile on the GSRA website, here.

You can see all their adoptable shepherds on their website and follow them on Facebook and Instagram. Make sure to stop by their booth to say hello!

Doxie by Proxy is another one of our returning rescues for Spring Fling! They love meeting so many great people there and have found some amazing fosters and adopters!

This Dachshund rescue group formed in 2019 from a love of rescuing and of Dachshunds. The volunteers with Doxie by Proxy have over 50 years combined experience with rescue work and focus their efforts on dogs in North Carolina. Once a dog is taken in, they are a part of Doxie by Proxy for life! That means that no matter what, that dog has a place with them if they need it. They prioritize helping dogs in shelters since they are at the highest risk, but will also accept owner surrenders if they have foster homes available.

Whenever possible, Doxie by Proxy tries to help owners work through the issues that are leading them to surrender their pet. They have plenty of experience to draw on and encourage people to reach out to a trainer when needed.

Stop by their booth and say hello! You can keep up with Doxie by Proxy on their website and their social media channels, Facebook and Instagram.
